Unsure if I can ask a question here or if I need to post it elsewhere. But I have an issue similar to this that we cannot seem to get resolved. I bought PB back in Jan and I called in and we got it setup and it seemed to be working fine. I was able to have it consistently print to my MP tray and it worked well. However, the changing of the printers from my USERNAME in the QB hosted service continued to alter the other users in the office (there printers continued to be moved from their default to mine). So I called the hosting service and they fixed this for me and ever since then everything has worked except on thing. I am never able to print back to the MP tray. Even if I change it in the Printer Setup prior to printing it still prints to the wrong tray. I was wondering if there was a way to force a PB printjob to always print the MP tray and any other print job from the hosted environment could just print normally to my Tray 1. Thanks for any help you can provide. And I did call Trapponline and they said it should be working fine as they followed the setup instructions in this and other articles. So if anyone has any thoughts I would appreciate it.

There are two general categories of situations in which PrintBoss works in “the cloud.”
1) Hosted accounting software and a hosted PrintBoss
2) An ASP hosts accounting software and separate copies of PrintBoss for each of their clients

SCENARIO 1: BOTH PRINTBOSS AND ACCOUNTING SOFTWARE ARE HOSTED ON SAME SERVER
In the first situation, when both the accounting software and the PrintBoss software are stored on the host server, the setup process is identical to that of any terminal server or Citrix environment. PrintBoss should be installed directly on the hosted server and the PrintBoss 50 printer driver will be installed there as well. The users then print to the PrintBoss 50 driver and PrintBoss will print to the printer specified under File\Printer Setup. It is important to note that PrintBoss can only print to printers that are listed in the Windows printer list under that session, so local printers will need to be mapped into the hosted session for the users to be able to print to them.

SCENARIO 2: AN ASP HOSTS ACCOUNTING SOFTWARE AND SEPARATE COPIES OF PRINTBOSS FOR EACH OF THEIR CLIENTS
There is a second scenario under which an entity hosts the accounting software and also wishes to host separate copies of PrintBoss for their clients as well. Primarily, this is done when a hosting company wishes to provide PrintBoss functionality to their clients but do not want them to be able to access the banks and forms of other companies. There is a specialized mode to run PrintBoss called ASP Mode that can accommodate this situation.
ASP installations require special licensing. The user does not own licensing rights to the software instead a fee is paid for the on-going use of the software. This is a temporary license allowing the use of PrintBoss for a specified period of time and for a specific company. At the end of that time, the ASP usage license can be renewed to continue using PrintBoss. The ASP usage license is purchased through the ASP provider, who in turn purchases the user license from Wellspring Software. When purchased, Wellspring Software supplies the ASP provider with a PrintBoss license file for each ASP user group. This mode is not covered by the standard licensing and service agreements.
