the ! is placed immediately after the variable, for example: {ACHEfctvDate!}, inside the brace in the message. This will generate a prompt for the date at the beginning of the batch.

{ACHEfctvDate} is an optional field which allows a date to be assigned in the form. Otherwise, the date the file is created is used. The description says to add ‘!’ to the end of the variable and a calendar will pop up to select a date on the fly when saving the ACH file Does the '!' go inside or outside the {} to prompt to change the ACH date?
