PrintBoss has a 'built-in' PDF writer so that a PDF copy can be created automatically as the document is processed. The PDF copy can be just one of up to 8 copy types printed at the same time. Copy types are: printed document, an email, a fax, a text or .csv positive pay file, PDF, etc.

PrintBoss Standard will create a PDF copy type. PrintBoss Enterprise allows for uniquely naming the PDF file and using variables in the path name for filing the PDF. This would mean Gary could save copies of individual direct deposit slips based on the date and employee id -- which is variable data document-to-document and week-to-week. Does this clarify what PrintBoss can do?

You just need to have a pdf reader installed in your system. It will automatically detect the PDF reader and thus will give and option to save as pdf if not printed.

Yes, you can do this with PrintBoss Enterprise.

Can I control both the name of the file and where the file is stored by individual PDF document? I want to print direct deposit slips, save each slip based on the date and employee id, and save the pdf by department into a different sub folder on the network.

Thanks

Gary
