This error normally occurs when an incompatible printer driver is used. PrintBoss loads the printer drivers when opening. When it reaches an incompatible printer driver (one that is incompatible with the OS), PrintBoss cannot load the printer trays and generates this error. The short term solution is to uncheck the 'Save Printer Settings' option on the Internal tab of the Configurations Dialog. The long term solution is to update the printer drivers and reselect the Save Printer Settings.

Please note in one case, the error continued after replacing the printer driver with a driver updated for Windows 7. We noticed there were old documents in the PrintBoss Work file that had not been archived or deleted. The documents were archived and further we deleted the users Work file. Printed 2 batches after that with no errors.

The error can also occur if the ONLY defined printer on the workstation or server where PrintBoss is being installed is the PrintBoss 50 driver. Typically this will happen when someone is installing PrintBoss on a server itself, or through a Citrix client, where no printers are assigned. To correct, add at least one valid printer.

This error also occurs in PrintBoss versions 5.70.3 and 5.70.4 when using reports with PB#INFO and PB#ASSIGN variables. This issue was fixed in 5.70.5.
