Hi, Is there any new on that issue with Windows 11. We have some users with the Windows 11 and we are now getting this error : "Your printer has experienced an unexpected configuration problem. 0x80010105". Thank you

Any update regarding this issue? Our windows 11 users were also forced to update to 22H2 and now cannot use Printboss with Sage i have tried the registry fix and unfortunately sage will still opt for the new print dialog box and when i select printboss 50 we get a generic error "Your printer has experienced an unexpected configuration problem. 0x80010105" the dialog does not even let us click more settings to manually choose the legacy print dialog box.
printboss is a huge part in our accountants day to day tasks and I really don't want to have to roll everyone's computer back to Windows 10...

Registry workaround did not help us on Windows 11 22H2 system.
P.S: Microsoft pushed 22H2 to our Windows 11 computers as a mandatory update (not a feature update) bypassing the WSUS server block I placed.

Unfortunately, we don't have any ETA on a PrintBoss side fix for this issue, but we are actively working on it. It will not be easy to determine what needs to be changed on the driver side to accommodate what Windows is attempting to do here.
But it does appear that Paul Medeiros' suggestion below should function as a workaround in the meantime. The following web link has good information on various methods to enable the registry setting to set the preference for the legacy print dialog.

Now that Microsoft is forcing 22H2 update, we are running out of time. Can you provide ETA for a proper fix?

There's a registry key in Windows 11 22H2 that resets the Print Dialog back to the legacy version. I've successfully tested importing the following registry key as a temporary workaround until PrintBoss gets updated.
***START OF REGISTRY IMPORT****
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Print\UnifiedPrintDialog] "PreferLegacyPrintDialog"=dword:00000001
***END OF REGISTRY IMPORT****
Once the registry is updated and the computer rebooted, the old Print Dialog box displays and 'PrintBoss50' is able to be selected. Of course, the next Windows 11 update may reset this key, but it's a workaround for now. edited by PaulMedeiros on 1/12/2023 edited by PaulMedeiros on 1/12/2023

PrintBoss Team, it's time you make an official statement on your intention to support Windows 11 moving forward. We cannot continue to block updates on client's computers without knowing whether there is a fix coming. I reported this issue back in September and as of now, we don't know when or if you are going to fix the issues.

Update - this is now definitely not sustainable. Additional updates now also break the PrintBoss software from running. We need an update soon or we'll have to move to another option.

With all due respect, this isn't a sustainable model for us. We've narrowed it down to KB5019959. When we uninstall that update, Printboss functionality returns. However this is a critical security update and Microsoft doesn't allow us to permanently hide it. So a week after we remove it, it unhides and installs, and the customers call us to remove it again. For those having problems, here's a powershell script you can run as admin that removes the update and hides it again. Run from a powershell prompt escalated as admin:
Set-ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted Install-Module -Name PSWindowsUpdate wusa /uninstall /kb:5019959 Hide-WindowsUpdate -KBArticleID 5019959 Set-ExecutionPolicy Restricted
We can't continue having users unable to print checks every week. I'm looking at automating via a batch file they can run when it happens, but the real solution is an updated Printboss version that isn't broken by security lockdowns. edited by ryoder on 12/9/2022

No. Not at this time. We continue to recommend that users refrain from installing this update and/or roll back to a previous version if it's already been installed.

Yes, we have seen and had have users report issues selecting the PrintBoss 50 printer driver in an applet that seems to have been overlaid over the usual printer dialogs in Windows applications. We are looking into the issue and will do our best to find a possible solution, but in the meantime we would recommend that users refrain from installing this update and/or roll back to a previous version if it's already been installed.

Anyone encountered issues with PrintBoss after installing 22H2 on Windows 11?
