You have one of three workstation working, so there is something specific to the other two workstations that we can address by looking over their settings.

All 3 have the same rights to the Print Boss folder and have a signature CD in their drives. Can you think of anything else that might be causing this issue? Thanks! Alvin

4/22/2010 9:53:38 AM Nancy Administrator Posts: 192	We have found that this issue can usually be solved by one of the following solutions: 1. Exclude the entire PrintBoss folder from the anti-virus scans. Alternatively, you can exclude the following PrintBoss extensions: .smt, .dbf, and .pbb. 2. Check the box labeled ‘Alternate Workfile Delete Method.’ This check box is found on the PrintBoss/ Options/ Configuration/ Legacy tab, in the lower right hand corner in the latest versions of PrintBoss (version 5.64.x). 3. In the latest version of PrintBoss 5.65.1 dts 04/07/2010, functionality was added to help work about anti-virus scans that tend to hold onto PrintBoss files while PrintBoss is attempting to access them again. These are typically the .pbb and .smt files (banks and PB forms). On the same Legacy tab as the "Alternate Workfile Delete Method' check box, there is a place to indicate to PrintBoss how many milliseconds to wait before another attempt is made to access the file. The default is 100 milliseconds. Some clients have increased the number to 500 milliseconds. Two have set it to 1000 milliseconds to work on their system.

4/22/2010 9:04:36 AM awang Posts: 2	Hello, I have 3 users that are supposed to access Print Boss, and I have granted all 3 the same access rights to the Print Boss folder. One user can print checks just fine, but the other two users receive the following error: SDE Error: 1800 File open error: [path]\PRINTBOSS\BANKS.PBB OS Error Code: 5 File Locked or Secured Can anyone help resolve this? Thanks!
