The Signature Disk Log is available only with PrintBoss Enterprise. You select Logging Active from the PrintBoss\Options\Security Settings\General Settings tab. You can set the retention period from 0 upto a 4-digit number. The log file is accessed from PrintBoss\Utilities choose SigDisk Usage Log. The log file can be veiwed online or a report printed. If you print the report to a PDF writer, that PDF could be emailed, but the PDF would not automatically be e-mailed.

Your postfrom 9/6 mentioned the PB logging feature. How much history do the logs contain, and how are they accessed? For example can they be emailed at the end of each print session or will someone have to run a report to view them, or are they simply disk files? Thank you.

The Sig Override request form is asking for the following:

Email Converted Files to = What email address should we use when sending the modified signature file back to you?

Signature File Name = What is the file you want us to disable? The file is generally in the PrintBoss Logos folder with the extension of .SIG.

Signature file Key Code = What is the code associated with the signature file? If you don't know what it is, you can use the PrintBoss Utility\ Examine Logos/Signatures to see what the code is. In PrintBoss 5.70.9 the utilities is under Utilites, earlier versions of PrintBoss have the utility under Edit.

Thanks for the helpful remarks re: Sig CD override, this gives us the confidence to use the Sig Override, but we did have a few questions on the logging feature: how much history do the logs contain, and how are the accessed? For example can they be emailed at the end of each print session or will someone have to run a report to view them?

The over-ride code will disable the encryption on the signature making it available for use on any form by any users. There is however, a feature in PrintBoss which allows for password protecting bank accounts. If you pull the signature file for checks through the bank account and password protect the bank, then an authorized user would enter the password before any checks would print.

In addition, to a password, you can have an security statement printed on each check (usually in a 8pt font) which identifies the user and time the check was printed.

Also, there is a logging feature within a PrintBoss form that, when activated, will create a text file that will record each printing/processing action of a document page. Each line will include the date, time, and operator name.

We have been having much aggravation mapping drives for the Sig CD between four users who all need to access PB installed on our Terminal Server. We are considering installing an override code to printboss so the CD is no longer necessary. However, before installing the override code we would like to know if there is an audit trail, password, or some other security mechanism used with the override code?
