The two most common issues that pop-up with a new Windows 8 workstation are: the transfer file location and permissions.
If you are moving an older copy of PrintBoss from one workstation to a new Windows 8 workstation, the Transfer file does not automatically change to the new, correct setting. On the PrntBoss\Options\PrintBoss Driver Settings window, change the Transfer Folder/File location to: {CommAppData\...\Transfer {WinUserName}. Also on the window (bottom left), the PB50 Spool Dir should be {ComAppData\...\Spool}. If you change the spool directory location, you must also restart the print spooler service or re-boot the workstation.
To check the permissions required by PrintBoss, you can use the Permissions Analyzer. Run P32 program and place your cursor over the Master Application screen. Ctrl-Shift-click P. A window will pop open the Permissions Analyzer and display the user's rights. Note, in order to have rights to the Local Machine registry when running PB32 Program, you must right-click and choose the option 'Run as Administrator.' edited by Nancy on 10/30/2014
